GROHE: The pure joy of water
Water is one of the most important resources on our planet. And to secure a supply of clean and fresh water to the people is the mission of Grohe AG. Get to know more about the German brand that works on a more sustainable world, drop by drop.
“Pure Freude an Wasser”, the pure joy of water. This is not only the motto of the German sanitary fittings brand Grohe AG, it’s part of their mission: By pioneering water products that solve everyday, real-life challenges; GROHE makes affordable and sustainable living a reality. This is evident in the wide range of products the brand offers.
At GROHE, sustainability starts at home, with its water-, energy- and resource-saving solutions. For example, the GROHE SilkMove ES allows cold water to flow from the faucet when positioned mid-lever, which saves unnecessary hot water consumption, and thus helps a four-person household to save up to 279 kg of CO2 per year. Or their innovative TurboStat technology provides a sustainable showering experience by delivering the desired shower temperature quickly, keeping it constant and saving hot water that otherwise would be wasted, while finding the perfect temperature during a morning shower routine.
Also, GROHE offers a solution for more sustainability in drinking water, with their Blue Home kitchen tap that supplies filtered and chilled water in still, medium or sparkling. This installation can not only help a family of four to save water, but also saves up to 800 plastic bottles each year, thereby reducing CO2 emissions by 61 percent.
New production processes like 3D metal-printing results in a particularly resource-efficient method of manufacturing faucets as only as much material as actually needed is used.
But also beyond their helpful product line, GROHE is doing everything in their power to save the climate, by setting an example as a manufacturer. Just recently the brand reached their goal of a zero-carbon production: In addition to numerous carbon-saving measures within their five international plants, GROHE offsets not yet unavoidable CO2 emissions by supporting global compensation projects like a hydroelectric power plant in India, that will terminate any need for coal-fired power plants. Another compensation project is located in Malawi, which involves the repair and maintenance of boreholes used for drinking water abstraction. With these actions, the brand proves that sustainability is not just limited to their products and home country, but also a worldwide effort.
As you can see, GROHE’s endeavors in sustainability are as versatile as their product portfolio. Not only is the brand helping to establish responsible behaviors in the usage of water, one of our most precious resources, but also preserving the planet itself. So their work goes even further than the pure joy of water.
